Whey !! starting 1.25 pm tomorrow, Thursday 28th August ,Bournemouth Air Festival in its 7th year. 95 Year old wing walker Tom Lackey takes to the sky. Cross fingers for the good weather. All through 4 days we have exciting flying, events, stalls, fairground and more between Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth pier. All the shops are open in both town centres. East Cliff over drive closed to vehicles and is one of the best places to be seated to watch and enjoy.
Red Arrows fly over on all four days how cool is that??

Annie Get Your Gun brings the heart of Broadway to the Bournemouth Pavilion for one week only in this major new production.
From the producers of West Side Story and South Pacific this TONY award-winning version of Irving Berlin’s classic musical comedy stars Emma Williams (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Norman Pace (Chicago), and most recently-announced Jonathon Wilkes (Godspell, The Rocky Horror Show UK Tour, Grease, Guys and Dolls, The Wedding Singer, We Will Rock You UK Tour, Chicago) this summer prior to the West End.

Bournemouth Square Events for Summer Live
Bournemouth Square Events for Summer Live is a new programme of art and music for the town centre. Starting Tuesday until mid August Bournemouth Square will have free entertainment between 5pm -9pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.
Acoustic music includes performances from Graham Seaton, Karl Lattimer , Charlie Woodford, choirs and brass bands.. Live art demonstrations will be hosted by Mirek J Lucan from Lucan Art. and other creative demonstrations have been scheduled , depending on the weather.
Another feature of Bournemouth Square for Summer Live is the spoken word with award winning poet Steve Biddle presenting Poetry Corner on Wednesday 20th August at 7pm.
Local eateries will be open and trading upto 11pm.
A ribbon will be cut by Cllr. David Smith to open the events on Tuesday at 5.15pm. There will be musical performances from the Funky Little Choir Company, E-J Evans and and emerging bands The Arkades

Set in the beautiful Bournemouth Gardens, the Bournemouth Balloon is run under sponsorship of Healthy Life. You get a fabulous ride up on the static wire (though it can be a bit breezy!)

This is also an ideal present to give someone as although it is weather dependent it isn’t so much as a proper hot air balloon that normally goes off at dawn or dusk , floating over the countryside or towns.

Opening this week Koh Thai Tapas in Christchurch Road, Boscombe, have extended their restaurant to include a proper bar area. This is excellent news as you are now able to call in for a drink before your meal or go to the bar after your meal. The choice of menu is fabulous and the prices reasonable.

SIster Act at Bournemouth Pavilion
22nd July -26th July 2014. Bournemouth Pavilion is host to Sister Act A feel good musical comedy in its’ 60th year. It has been a smash hit on Broadway and the West End. The film starred Whoopie Goldberg and became an instant hit with all ages.
Deloris a wannbe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the police hide her in the last place anyone would think to look! A convent!!
Under the suspicious watch of the Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices, as she unexpectedly finds her own.

Bournemouth Air Festival
Organisers of this years Bournemouth Air Festival Thursday 28th August – Sunday 31st August 2014, have unveiled some of the main attractions. The Canberra will be part of the festival, the worlds’ first jet powered bomber. There will be a unique chance to see two Lancaster bombers flying together, when a Canadian Lancaster joins the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
The Mid Air Squadron Canberra XH134 joined the R.A.F. in 1951 as the first jet powered bomber. It is believed to be the worlds longest serving bomber, having been retired in 2006 from active duty. It is the only airworthy Canberra of its type in the world.
The sight of the two Canadian Lancaster bombers in the Battle of Britain Memorial in flight is a meeting that will only happen once and is unlikely to ever be repeated.
The Red Arrows will be displaying on all four days of the Bournemouth Air Festival, which is fantastic and always a crowd puller. Thursday 3.15pm, Friday 3pm, Saturday 4.35pm and Sunday at 12.10pm so put those times in your diary.
This year we will have a longer dusk display starting at 7.15pm Thursday , Friday and Saturday. The Blades will perform a sunset display on the Friday and Saturday. The evening line up will finish with the Red Devils Parachute Team.

Brownsea Island lives just off of Poole Harbour and Sandbanks. Reached by public ferries, Brownsea Island, is owned and operated by National Trust. Home to the Red Squirrel, it is a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Hop on the ferry and take a trip to an island that has no cars. Walk around and enjoy the flora and fauna. If you take a pic nic there are a few little beaches to sit and rest and enjoy the spectacular views across Poole Harbour. National Trust have a great café to finish off your day whilst you wait for the ferry back .
Poole is also a great place to stop and enjoy. Poole park with its massive boating lake, often has festivals or just a chance to walk and enjoy. Poole harbour is home to Sunseeker and you often see a varity of very expensive yatchs.
Sandbanks is another fabulous area, reputably the 4th most expensive place in the world to live , the little ferry will take you across to Brownsea Island but it is worth taking a break and visit the beautiful sandy beach, be amazed by the kite surfers, or just people watch.
Rosscourt is only 4 miles from the Sandbanks ferry and 6 miles from Poole.
Buses to Sandbanks and Poole from Boscombe Bus station. Even an open topped bus to enjoy the scenery uninterrupted
